Common questions
What happens to my meta tags if I uninstall Plover SEO?
They stay. Plover writes meta titles, meta descriptions, and image alt text to Shopify's own SEO fields, so uninstalling leaves them on your products. The schema app embed stops output when the app is removed, and no code is left in your theme.
Does Plover SEO modify my theme code?
No. Structured data is added only through a Shopify theme app embed. Turn it on or off in the theme editor. Plover never edits theme.liquid or other theme files.
Can I use it while my store is password protected?
Yes. The audit reads your catalog through the Shopify Admin API, not the public storefront, so you can fix SEO fields before launch. Page speed checks need a live storefront.
How do AI credits work?
AI credits pay for generated drafts and optional Auto Blog images. Templates, schema, scans, and scores use no AI credits. Meta title, meta description, image alt, focus keyword, translation, and Auto Blog topic title use 1 credit each. Product FAQ and highlights use 2 credits each. A product description uses 3 credits. A collection description or a page or blog post body also uses 3 credits. Optional Auto Blog images use 10 credits for a header and 15 credits for an inline image. A draft is charged when it is ready, even if you do not save it. Generating again charges again. A failed generation uses no AI credits. Free includes 100 AI credits once per installation; they do not reset. The Pro trial includes 200 credits. 2,000 credits a month start after the first payment and reset on the first day of each month (UTC). To keep AI fast for everyone, each store has a daily AI limit. It resets at 00:00 UTC.
How does Auto Blog decide what to write?
It builds topics from your collections and product types, your industry setting, and your market's season. Each collection becomes a topic cluster with one pillar guide and supporting posts. Every post is written from your catalog facts and waits for your review unless you turn on autopilot.
Will my posts show up in Google AI Overviews or ChatGPT?
No tool can guarantee that. Posts are structured to be easy to quote: a direct answer first, question headings, self-contained sections, and a shopper FAQ, with no invented statistics or reviews.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Settings > Activity lists every change the app made with the old and new value. Click Undo to restore the previous value.
How do I change or cancel my plan?
Open the Plan page in the app. It links to Shopify's billing page, where you can change or cancel at any time. Cancel before uninstalling to stop future charges.
